Sorry for the lack of posts

But I was on a much needed vacation and didn't touch my computer for DAYS. And on top of that, allergy season is kicking my ass. Luckily, I found these skull surgeon's masks. Sure it'll make people look at you funny but it stops the damn pollen from infiltrating your face.

Tastykake Pancake Krimpets

Perusing the aisles of my local Quik Check convenience store the other day, I stumbled upon something new, the Tastykake Pancake Krimpet.

Limited Edition Pancake Krimpet Alert!

Butter Flavored, Cream Filled Sponge Cake with Maple Syrup Icing. Being the adventurer I am, I had to try it. It's interesting and pretty good, the maple syrup icing is the stronger flavor and the denser than usual Krimpet cake has a slight pancake taste. Of course, it's not a well-rounded breakfast unless you work some bacon in there somewhere. I'm trying to decide whether it would be better with some bacon on top worked into the frosting or to slice the cake in the middle and make it a sandwich. These are the things that keep me up at night.

Bacon Lip Balm

Bacon lip balm sounds weird and it is, but it's damn good! I was reading "50 Ways to Use Bacon" over at startcooking.com and saw a comment from Christy referencing the bacon lip balm she was selling over at The Plaid Mushroom on Etsy.com

Having had this bacon lip balm in my hand for a few days, I can testify to Christy's skill at creating a fantastic product. It really does have the flavor of real bacon but it's not overpowering at all, it's really kinda strange, neat and yummy. The lip balm itself is just awesome, it feels a billion times better than the drug store stuff. All Christy's lip balms are made completely from scratch, the ingredients for the bacon lip balm are beeswax, avocado oil, shea butter, vitamin e, and bacon.

Christy did tell me that the bacon lip balm is not an item that she keeps in stock in her shop but her page does say that she loves custom orders. There's also a lot of other tasty sounding flavors in stock.

Chocolate Bacon Bashing

One of my favorite celeb gossip sites, dlisted.com just posted a bit about the Chocolate Covered Bacon from Marini's in Santa Cruz, CA. I'm always psyched to see bacon related articles but then I read the pages of comments left by other readers. So many bacon haters, jeez! Now I know why I only associate with other bacon lovers. If you want to stick up for bacon and chocolate, go leave a positive comment!

Raindrops keep falling on my head

And I wouldn't really mind if I had this fashionable skull umbrella with me. If I order it from Amazon.com, do you think they can get it to me before I have to leave the office today?

Bacon Kaleidoscope Art

Bill Brown, the design master of mandalas and kaleidoscopes has done some amazing work. Hopefully he doesn't mind that I am posting the two bacon related pieces he's done. Please check out his other works on Flickr, they are super cool.

These make a nice desktop image, especially the first one. My co-workers already think I've gone bacon-insane so I may as well hammer that home.

Fossil Skull Flip Watch

Really nice men's Fossil watch with subtle etched skull graphics on the flip face. The skull and crossbones blackened rose gold-tone case flips to reveal a brown degrade dial ($55). I'm pretty sure that you need to buy the strap separately ($20).

Was William Shakespeare, in fact, Bacon?

Even Florence Henderson knows, "Bacon tastes real good."

Bacon Hypnosis

Took this pic this afternoon at the Union Square Farmer's Market in NYC. They promised to hypnotize me with their extra special bacon for sale but alas I had to run back to my baconless cubicle.

Death by Chocolate Skulls

If you're willing to spend some bucks for quality chocolate and exquisite skull designs, check out the Mori Ex Cacao Gift Set from DL & Company & Valerie Confections. If you're ready to drop almost a buck fifty, head on over to ChocolateSkulls.com where the extremely life-like skulls come in a variety of chocolates, my favorite pictured below.

Bone Chocolate': A delicious blend of Belgian milk and white chocolates, resembling the colour of freshly cleaned human bones.

Mori Ex Cacao chocolate skulls set includes three flavors: Scorched Caramel, Bitter Brandied Cherry and Curious Chili.

For the more DIY types, follow the directions over at Diary of the Crafty Chica. She makes some delicious looking White Chocolate Sugar Skulls and the instructions are pretty simple. You can pick up the Skull Molds pretty cheap at Amazon.com

The Crafty Chica's White Chocolate Sugar Skulls

I'm betting most people look at these around Halloween time but is there ever really never a wrong time of the year to enjoy skulls and chocolate together? Not in my book.
